The Athlete Scrapbook

If you are like me, you probably have lots of wallet sized photos hanging around gathering dust or wrinkles somewhere in the depths of your purse. Between school pictures, sports, holiday, and daycare portraits, they tend to accumulate rather quickly! Here's a quick and easy way to make a cute brag book using these photos and supplies that you may already have on hand.

For the basis of my book, I used some laminate countertop samples I'd gathered for a remodeling project a few years ago. You can find these at Lowes or Home Depot, and I'd almost bet they have some discontinued or out of stock samples that they'd love to get rid of. If this isn't an option, you can certainly use scrap cardboard or chipboard (the material that's found on the back of notebooks) as well. The size of my samples / album is 1-3/4" x 2-5/8".

Once you have the foundation (laminate, chipboard, etc), it is simply a matter of tracing, cutting, and adhering your photos. An all-photo album would be fantastic (just don't forget to add the dates!), or you can mix it up with patterned paper and stickers as I've done.

My album has a sports theme, but you could run with this concept a number of different ways. Family baby photos. Christmas card pictures through the years. School portraits. And how about as a gift? I bet grandmas would love these. Enjoy!
