Goin' Veg - The Plan

First things first, Happy New Year to all! I hope it brings good fortune to you.

Ok now, so I've moved and I've been utterly crazed dealing with my mess of a house, my energizer bunny of a son, and the absence of my husband due to his work and commute. I'm not eating well, except for the brown rice here and there as previously mentioned.

On top of that I've had a really sweet tooth for the past few weeks and I've been snacking on chocolates and cake icing all the while wishing I would come across 'The Kind Diet' book in some box or another because there were some yummy-looking dessert recipes in there, but alas, I haven't. And of course it's been so long since we packed to move that I no longer have even the vaguest idea of what I packed it with so no help there either.

But here's the good news. I got an iTouch for Christmas. I'm totally addicted to it. I think I now have the best of both worlds since I have a Blackberry, which is great for texting, emailing and chatting, which I do a lot, and the iPhone/iTouch, which is great for web browsing, and there are a ton of awesome applications, most of which are free for the stuff that I need or want. Yeah I have to carry around both the BB and the Touch now, and BB suddenly seems much chunkier, but oh well.

So I've downloaded a ton of apps in the past week, a few of which have been cooking apps, more specifically vegan/vegetarian cooking. The one I love right now is the Whole Foods app. You can choose the kind of diet you want and then the course and you've got lots of meals to choose from, and great pics too. I love having all of this right at my fingertips and I can't wait to get started.

Now comes the plan. Since I'm taking this process quite slowly I am making several short-term goals. My first goal is to make one vegetarian dinner a week.  And of course some desserts.  No need to find my book to look up recipes and ingredients or to get online and search and print stuff out. It's all right here on my iTouch in the palm of my hand.

How awesome is that?
